International Tourism and Events Management
The International Tourism & Events Management is a step up from the High School Diploma up to a Doctorate of Business Management, this is a chance for them to hone their skills and build on knowledge. For new students entering at any level, this is a more intense course that will teach students how to work efficiently and professionally in the tourism industry. For 12 months, the students will undertake academic classes that will teach them the theory of tourism management.
Around 60% of hotel and restaurants business said that TRAINING/Part-Time Job during the study had a beneficial effect on staff retention.
By 2017 the hotel and tourism industry is expected to generate 262.000.000 jobs, approx. 1 in every 10 jobs worldwide.

Why Tourism and Events Management?
To be successful in the management industry, quick decision making and excellent communication skills are key for any employee. This course teaches students the theory they need to know across all of the elements of management from sales to marketing to how to prepare and host an event, and how to run a tourism agency and students will be taught to make decisions that will benefit the business that they will hopefully come to work for, to teaching them foodservice operations. By understanding the culinary industry, students of tourism and Events management will have an all-around knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities that they will hold as an employee of the Tourism industry.
Because students of this course will have prior experience in the tourism industry be it through their diplomas or independent internships, they will be perfect candidates for this course as this course will be mainly focusing on how to apply a thought process and innovative decisions to decisions and problems that a manager may come across. Focusing on elements such as human resources, law and communications and tourism management, this course will teach students how to handle situations professionally and in a way that will benefit the business. After the six-month study period in which the students will strengthen their theory and knowledge, they will then be sent on a six-month paid internship in a local Swiss business.
Academic Goal
At the end of this course at the school of tourism Switzerland, students will gain a valuable and internationally accredited qualification that will place them ahead of others in the hopes of finding employment. Students will graduate with world-class knowledge and an extensive vocabulary that any employee of this industry should have.
As well as the theory, graduates of this course should also work during their study in a hotel or any tourism industry that will become invaluable when applying for professional work outside of school. International Tourism & Events students will be able to combine the theory that they learned whilst studying in school with the hands-on experience that they gained in order to help them make effective decisions when in the professional world. This is a key skill that any employee in this industry will be looking for in future employees.
Programme overview
During this course, students will be assessed on two stages through a series of modules that will be taught to them through lectures and the internship period.
Students will be taught in traditional lectures, in which there will be guided readings that will give students a broader understanding of the industry.
Students are assessed based on their coursework, reports, and presentations.
Swiss Diploma (1 year) / Associate Diploma (2 years):
