The student may study any of the following 3 doctorates:

• Doctorate in Pedagogy 
• Doctorate in Social pedagogy
• Doctorate in Pedagogy of high school

The Doctorate Program is offered by the Department of Social Pedagogy which is attached to the Faculty of Sociology in cooperation with Taurida National V.I.Vernadsky University.

The doctorate curriculum in social pedagogy with us is a program that is research-oriented and it is quite flexible. It has been specially designed for students who are keen on learning and organizing within the educational setting. usually, Students have to attend doctoral seminars. They will also have to choose from specialization courses and methodology of research. The courses are selected after consulting a supervisor among the faculty and the advisory committee for the program. This will be based mainly on the academic work done by the students prior to admission for the Doctorate Degree. Students have to put in the time for their coursework and also carry out research projects so that they would be able to contribute to the special area of child psychology and social pedagogy.

The doctoral seminars with us will be the heart of the academic experience for the students. They will promote an environment for the collaboration of research and learning. The seminars help in the examination of all modern conceptions of pedagogy and they also study various theoretical and historical influences. There is a focus on the analysis of both political and conceptual perspectives and pedagogy enactments. Various paradigms are studied and they include critical, post-structural and hermeneutic thoughts. The courses also examine how pedagogues finally interpret all educational events and how they lay an emphasis on claims and methods through notions of reality, subjectivity, and truth.

The students have to familiarize themselves with diverse methods that are used in education research in contemporary studies. They have to become experts in specific methods that are used by them while doing research. They have to develop proficiency by reading intensely all literature involved in their research methods. Before these proposals of research get approved by the faculty, students have to show that they have gained the required knowledge that is necessary to carry out their projects.

How long should be my thesis?
Usually, it should be from 60.000 – 100.000 words (from chapter 1 to chapter 5). Students are allowed to have 10% less or more, however, the supervisor can allow a student to write more.
