Doctorate in Sociology
The Doctorate Program in Social Pedagogy of High School is offered by the Department of Social Pedagogy which is attached to the Faculty of Sociology in cooperation with Taurida National V.I.Vernadsky University a European State university founded in 1918
And this program is 100% thesis-based program.
The Doctorate Program at TNU for Social Pedagogy will require graduates to collaborate with educators, families, and policymakers as part of the educational research evolution. This doctoral program includes a commitment by the faculty and the students to promote social justice and equity.
It has to be remembered that the actual identity of social pedagogy lies in its very values and how it approaches to work with children in secondary and high school levels of education. All related disciplines have to be studied and they include sociology, philosophy, psychology, medicine, education, law, and politics. Social pedagogy of high school will include creative and practical activities like outdoor sports, arts, and music. Work is not limited to these disciplines; it stretches to direct applications in social work and social care.
During this doctoral program at tnu, students will be taught courses on the Petrie Principles that focus on a child as a whole individual and support that child’s physical and mental development. The practitioner will perceive himself or herself as a coach in a relationship with high school students who need their help. Staff and children will dwell in a single life space and not as in separate domains of hierarchy.
The main objective of the Department of Social Pedagogy at tnu is to provide quality research training to all postgraduates whose research concentrates on social problems faced in social work, particularly among students in high school. There is a rising demand for this kind of expertise as welfare state structures are turning weaker with changes in societies.
The research involved in Doctorate in Social Pedagogy of High School focuses on the social processes that make students in high school vulnerable due to insecurity and absence of motivational participation. Research concentrates on mechanisms of exclusion, poverty, and political interventions. Rehabilitative social work with students in high school targets their health if they suffer from some physical or mental disability and when they involve themselves in substance abuse or in violent behavior.
Graduates can seek employment as social pedagogues in high school units for young students with disabilities, ranging from health needs to autistic disorders.
How long should be my thesis?
Usually, it should be from 60.000 – 100.000 words (from chapter 1 to chapter 5). Students are allowed to have 10% less or more, however, the supervisor can allow a student to write more.
